Dear Diary.....: kenanganku-Wataniah part 1

Posted: 19 Apr 2010 07:48 PM PDT

Nornafisah Halit, PBT 6144606
Ni hostel wokyoh perempuan...

Boringnyer............

time2 boring cmni...lepak dpn pc n xtahu nk wat aper...

tetiba teringat member2 lama zmn wokyoh dulu..(Wataniah)

org kecik jer...tapi ganaz tau hehehe

masa tu igt lagi, Encik Fadzil baru mengajar kt Kolej Shahputra. Dia ajar subjek Computer. masa tu kami sumer tergamam. comelnyer lecturer nih.... paling tergamam Cik Zie(Jemah). rupernyer dia Leftenan Muda dlm Wataniah. atas dorongan beliau...majoriti kelas aku join wokyoh. tambah2 Jemah coz dia dah "cloud 9" sama itu lecturer.

Aku Wataniah ker minah Rempit???

first xtvt wokyoh yg kitorang join adalah "Latihan Berterusan Siri 1/2004, 14 - 20 April 2004". masa tu kitorang dok kat Ceruk Paloh, Pahang selama seminggu. gotong royong, kawad, tido kat balai raya...mandi pun berebut, masa tu muka mmg xtahu malu so kami g la minta izin mandi kat umah org kampung hahaha..

Pumpin, Aku, Pak Li, Donny & Zai di Ceruk Paloh

"Latihan Asas Parajurit Muda Siri 2/2004, 26 April - 25 May 2004"

Setiap latihan kt sini... ayat paling famous adalah, "Kuih lapis, Kuih gulung, Kuih donut" naik "kenyang" layan kuih2 tu. nyaris muntah masa wat kuih gulung. tepi padang kawad tu rupernyer dh biasa kena muntah pas layan kuih2 tu hahaha. Ada satu part tu, aku n kwn2 tersampai awal kt dewan mkn. sepatutnya belum sampai masanya. (biasala askar kena ikut time). "Cik Misai" yg melentik tu nmpk. apalagi.... "Apa yg kau buat tu skuad? Ini belum masa utk kau makan. Lari la kau, 5 papan...!!!!" Arrgghhh!!!! Berlari la kami 5 pusingan keliling padang kawad hahaha.... terus xselera aku nk mk pas tu. disebabkan byk sgt kena layan "papan", bila abis latihan jer sarjan perli, "nti kau semua balik rumah, bawak papan2 tu skali. boleh buat rumah". Kurang asam...

Ni buka gambar kami nak pi berkelah ok....

Kat sini gak aku blajar macam2 yg ditempuhi oleh para askar kiter yang sentiasa berjuang demi keamanan Malaysia, cewah.... Walaupun xsedasyat diorg at least aku dapat rasa sket basic n memahami keadaan diorg masa tu. Bayangkan la, ada seminggu tu mereka tinggalkan kami kat satu "bukit" yang padang jarak, padang terkukur. dah la panas, xda pokok nk berlindung. nk mandi? seingat aku, time tu kami 2x jer dlm minggu tu hehehe. bau xder saper yg perasan sbb sumernyer bau masam hahaha...

sembhyg? time ni la "air minum ku, air wuduk ku jua". Jimat beb... time nie jgn ader saper pun yg kata dia bwk berus gigi. (kalo ader pun senyap2 jer). Sarjan pernah warning dulu..."Sapa2 bwk berus gigi, aku suruh satu platun berus gigi diorg dgn berus tu dan kau org yang terakhir pakai berus tu, dapat?" iyeewww...gelinyer... tapi aku paham niat sbnrnyer...org nk berperang slmtkan negara xkan kau sebok nk jaga penampilan diri, kan? tapi Sarjan xla sekejam tu...nk berus boleh tapi sorok2 hehehe.

kt sana kami kena gali kubu untuk team kami sendiri dr peha smpi paras dada. wah....dalam tu. menggalilah kami bagai nk rak. utk yg xder cangkul, kami gali guna parang, bekas makanan n aper sajer yg tercapai asalkan dpt wat lubang. masa nie aku agak kagum dgn Fuadilah. minah nie dapat partner lelaki yang agak2 malas nk keluar kederat. tapi minah nie selamba jer gali kubu tu dgn tenaga dia sendiri. tabik spring aku.

N di sini gak...aku ader pengalaman yg betul2 mengajar n menginsafkan aku.

waktu menggali nie, dlm keadaan panas terik...kami kekurangan air. aku ader la simpan sket air utk aku n partner aku. si Khalir (dak Raub kot) dtg n minta sket air dr kwn2 yg lain. sumer kata xder air. smpi la ke giliran aku, aku pun ckp xder iar. genap2 utk aku n partner aku. dia terus pergi tah kemana. tiba2, tgh2 giat menggali, kecoh sekeliling bila Khalir dikejarkan ke hospital sbb keracunan. rupa2nya dia turun ke bawah bukit n minum air kt tali air tu. khabarnyer air tu beracun sbb ader pihak2 yg baru meracun or what ever kt arear tu. Ya Allah....masa tu aku betul2 rasa bersalah. kenapa la aku x bagi sket air td kt dia. kalo x mybe xkan jd mcmtu. tapi Alhamdulillah...dia selamat n lusanya dia kembali menggali kubu bersama2. masa tu aku minta maaf beria2 kt dia n di just ckp " xda ape2 la... jgn risau". Sejak ari tu....aku xkedekut lagi. Insaf woo.....
kt sini juga kami berlatih tempur tanpa senjata. ni la gunanya bila peluru dah abis. xleh nk menembak so kena la pertahankan diri sendiri. ader satu part tu..aku pun lupa aper nama dia. saper2 tahu nti inform la kat aku yek... kami kena baring kt jln tar tu. matahari memancar n kaum lelaki yg xberbaju tu terpaksa menahan haba panas jln tar tu. cian kt dak lelaki. kami ladies yg berbaju nie pun terasa kepanasannya inikan lak lelaki2 yg xberbaju tu. xtvt ni sbg ujian tahan ujian n dugaan pada askar. ye la...cuba bygkan aper terjadi kalu kiter kena tahan dgn musuh. mcm2 diorg akan buat supaya kiter bocorkan maklumat kerajaan. so ini just latihan supaya kiter tahan lasak n xmudah bocorkan rahsia kerajaan.

Nie la Platun aku

Jijah, Zura, Zai, Ika, Aku, Yana & Sita

P/S:- aku paling xtahan tgk muka jemah bila En.Fadzil kata dia dh tunang. member tak selera nak makan tuh....hahaha

Gunung Tahan: Kuala Juram(<b>Merapoh</b>)-Tahan-Kuala Juram – Part I

Posted: 16 Apr 2011 09:59 PM PDT

Mana orang ajak, aku pergi. Haha. Setakat ni kepuasan aku adalah menjejakkan kaki di puncak tertinggi Borneo(Kinabalu tahun lepas) dan pundak tertinggi Semenanjung Malaysia; Gunung Tahan. Hoyeah!

Sedikit info mengenai Gunung Tahan.

Lokasi: Pahang.
Ketinggian: 2,187 meter (7,175 kaki)

Travel log hari pertama, 5 April 2011;

8:30 PM - Mimpi indah (Dalam hujan rintik-rintik)

Total 36 Photos

Mari kita kaji kedua-dua trail sebelah menyebelah. Empat hari vs. tujuh hari. Ade la naik Gunung Datuk sebulan sebelum tu. Haha.

2. Berikut adalah sedikit pesanan pihak bertanggungjawab. 44.9km(one way) secara total. (Kata Lair ini calculation straight line pakai GPS. Jarak sebenar on foot pusing-pusing bukit mungkin lagi jauh) Empat hari adalah tempoh perjalanan standard tanpa sebarang masalah teknikal.

3. Keseluruhan barang persendirian termasuk seluar dalam warna fink bergambar Ultraman. Haha. Paling penting.. ah semua tu penting la samdol! Kalau tak, takde maknanya aku nak pikul berkilo-kilo atas belakang.

4. Berat beg baru aku dengan barang-barang persendirian tadi. Sepuluh kilo sahaja. Tanpa air minum 3 liter(3 kilo), kamera (sekilo lebih) Sampai sana topup lagi sedikit sebanyak bayang-barang catuan seperti beras dan lain-lain.

5. Pepagi pukul 6 sampai di Merapoh. Semayang subuh dekat masjid berdekatan dan terus bersiap pakai uniform hiking. Lepastu gerak cari breakfast.

Kira semua bungkusan plastik, bateri, botol, tin. Pakaian termasuk spender ultraman tadi.

10. Lepastu pendaftaran, pusing-pusing dulu bilik pameran sebagai warm up mental sebelum hiking. Selepas itu sedikit briefing oleh tuan ranjer. Foto menunjukkan jari yang agak-agak tunjk kat mana nak start pancit dan timbul rasa menyesal pegi masuk hutan. Haha.

12. Muka-muka gembira. Ada yang tak pakai thights pon. Kagum aku. Haha. Tapi alhamdulillah semuanya tak diserang pacat yang ganas.

13. Tobat laju Pak Teh bawak 4WD ni. Lelebih lagi masa dia lajak nak naik bukit. Roller-coaster siot! Nak angkat tangan dan jerit "wheeeeeeeeeeeee" tapi takot tercampak keluar lak. Haha.

14. Kuala Juram adah salah satu santuari Ikan Kelah Taman Negara. Kalau Pak Teh tipu aku, aku pon tipu korang la. Haha.

15. Ada Lata Bunian lah! *ok dalam hati sedikit cuak*

16. Muka kerek lagi ni sebab lom kena penangan hutan belantara lutut bertemu dagu. Haha. Juga kene pakai semat. (baju tuck in dalam) Haha. Kacak bukan? Takot pacat la katakan kang depa naik kasi love bite kat ketiak lak. Hehe.

17. Azam membacakan doa agar semuanya selamat pergi dan pulang. (anak sapa laaaa kitorang niiiihhh seswai dibuat menantu hoh!)

Haha.

19. Jambatan gantung permulaan trek ke Gunung Tahan. Naik ni sambil nyanyi lagu "Goyang-goyang, goyang kepala goyang". Haha.

20. Sungai pertama kene cross. Dalam kepala aku satu je. Lepasni mesti pesta kempen derma darah. Tapi aku apa takut? Aku dah pakai kacak baju tuck in mcm nak pegi opis. (padahal pegi opis pon tak penah tuck in) Haha.

21. Selepas bermain air, kita panjat batang pokok lak. Haha. Lepastu trekking dengan kasut/stokin basah. Cepelet, cepet, cepet. Kaki pon rasa suam. Haha.

22. Awal-awal memang begini. Semua rapat-rapat. Dekat-dekat. Tapi jangan pegang-pegang. Haha Lama-lama pecahla jadi dua group. Group laju dan group sipud. Aku group mana? Aku group sweeper. Haha. (nama cool bagi sipud)

Naik atas darat baru strap balik. Sekian pesanan penaja.

24. Air melo. Tak nampak apa yang dipijak. Agak cuak walaupun air tu paras lutut je. Mana la tahu tetibe ade lobang ke ape ke. Kan kan kan?

25. Takdok le dalam sangat tapi basoh le ponggom awok... (The river is not too deep. Only warm-warm deep. Not knee deep. Not waist deep. It's ass deep. LOL)

26. Bapak besar wei pokok ni. takleh nak peluk dah lebo dia.

28. Kadang-kadang ada trek yang curam kebawah begini. Selalunya curam ke atas. Mana-mana pon tak kesah la. Azab naik atau turun lebih kurang je. OK tipu. Turun lebih nyaman sebenarnya. Hehe.

29. Kulat ni basar gila cakap aku. Ade la sebesar dulang kot. Sepatutnya aku amik gamba beliau bersama seorang manusia. Baru nampak betapa besar dia. Erm.. um.. takpelah. Haha.

30. Pokok nik akar dia terkeluo macam pokok bakau yo!

31. Ni sungai ke 2 kot. Tengok tu Pa'an dah senget sebab salah step. Kat sini aku chill lagi cross sungai dengan kamera selamba strap deat dada. Kalau tergolek dalam sungai mmg nanges aku 4 hari 4 malam.

32. Air dia tak deras sangat. Air dia tak dalam. Air dia tak jernih sangat. Tapi kalau jatuh tu kompem hanyut sejauh beberapa sentimeter.

33. Cendawan! Eh kulat! Eh cendawan! Eh apa tah tapi kaler oren la tapi rasa belum tentu oren. Mungkin rasanya seperti stokin. Haha.

34. Pokok apa tah. Besar nak mampus daun dia. Boleh buat tempat berlindung kalau hujan lebat. Wow!

35. Seres aku cuak nak cross sungai ni. Tang ni aku simpan kamera bila nak cross. Aku tak kompiden. (Sayang wei kemere tu sekor je aku ade) Depa mesti menyampah tunggu aku lambat bungkus kamera dalam bag. Hehe.

36. Kuala Luis. Ini adalah sungai yang paling menakutkan. Silap tektik jatuh dalam jeram tu. Dahle banyak batu. Tapi takde masalah bagi orang berani macam aku. Haha dah settle belagak le yeop!

Agar aku tidak lupa: Morning walks at <b>Kuala Lipis</b> - Historical buildings

Posted: 23 Jan 2012 03:33 AM PST

After walking around the town [photos of which will be posted after this one], I took a cab and asked the taxi driver if he can be my personal tour guide for the day. You see, though Kuala Lipis is a small town in comparison to other towns in Malaysia, it will take me hours and hours or possibly at least a couple of days to fully cover it on foot. Moreover, it is a very hilly town. God forbid I'd collapsed from all the climbings.. hehe.
I became instantly fascinated by the old buildings. My mind wonders what it was like during their hey days. About the people who stayed there, the families that came all the way from England by ships which could have taken them months to reach Malaya. Of the sort of constructions involved in building the houses and residencies which still seemed to stand the test of times. Of the British officials, high ranking personnels and socialites partying at the Pahang Club. Of what would a day in the life of Sir Hugh Clifford's be like.
Anyways, here are the images I managed to capture during the 5 hours of being driven around by Uncle Raju the taxi driver cum personal tour guide. As it turned out, much much to my delight, uncle Raju is one of those old folks that has lots and lots of fabulous anecdotes about Kuala Lipis :).
I must admit that I had fallen in love with this sleepy and picturesque town :)
Lipis District Administration's Building
This building was completed in year 1919 and the management center for Pahang Darul Makmur state. On the second floor of this building was where the British Residen and Administrative Officers of Pahang State resided. While on the ground floor was the revenue collection and treasury office of British Government. Lipis at that time was the largest district in Pahang State. Its area included all the present Jerantut District and was one the richiest district with gold, ore, forest products and rubber.
Lipis Heritage Museum
This historic house was completed in year 1920. This house is situated on top of Bius hill, one of the historic hills in Kuala Lipis. This was a prominent housing area for high rangking government officials and Daerah Lipis's notable individuals. This house is said to be historic because the former Menteri Besar of Pahang and the current Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak was born and brought up here. His father, the late Allahyarham Tun Abdul Razak bin Dato' Hussien once had resided in this house when he was the Secretary for the government of Pahang.
After Dato' Sri Najib resided in this house, it is still being maintained by the Government of Pahang to be occupied by Group 'A' Government Officer.
Pahang Club
It was the earliest building built by the British in 1907. This building site was the first base where the English first administer Pahang. The purpose in building this house was for Sir Hugh Clifford's who was at that time the Ulu Pahang's Superintendent.
Sir Hugh Clifford then planned to build a more suitable residence to monitor Kuala Lipis area and found Bukit Resident as a more suitable site. While waiting for the new house to be completed, he resided in the Pahang Club House till 1922.
When the Sir Hugh Clifford moved out to Resident House in 1922, this club house then became the official home of Inspector of Police till 1926. This police inspector headed the British Police Force where his team members constituted of people of Sibu, Dayak and Malay amounting to 100 people.
In 1926, the house was vacated and became the club for British Official and High Ranking Personals. Its membership was opened to British and Royal family. That time, the Pahang Club as at its peak, became the meeting place of the rich and famous. It was told that not any one can enter the club house. Patrons must be fully dressed in shirt and tie which symbolizing status at that time. Patrons' shoes must be mirror shine as the floor of this club which was polished daily.
After Malayan independent in 1957, the state capital was shifted to Kuantan. With the dwindling membership, it was opened to the public, irrespective of their origin or social standings.
