We were supposed to be heading to the durian orchard at Bentong that afternoon near by Bukit Tinggi. Due to the heavy downpour, it had stopped us from having the durian feast. Although I felt a bit annoyed but then we decided to have a jolly good early dinner at Kg Bukit Tinggi. Our pick was Mei Sei Ka Restaurant.
When we got there we basically ransacking the fridge I thought . . . . lol! the lady chef was really nice and her husband suggested we try having the fresh water prawns and they were huge in size. We had seven of them just to satisfy our lust for prawns. Yeah we might sounded crazy but we were out for a feast that evening. The head was huge and filled with lots of orangy and rich eggs. We had them steamed while the flesh we had them pan fried with bean sauce. The outcome was just brilliant.
The steamed prawn heads was done perfectly delicious . . . . . I guess if the seafood is fresh, the outcome of any cooking would be good too, keep it simple ! Refreshingly fresh sweet in taste, and the cooked prawn eggs turned out brilliant delicious. We loved it, simpllicity is a must.
As for the other half, the prawns turned out to be prefect. The meat had a great biting texture and the sauce paired it so well. Just love the bursting flavor and the freshness of the whole dish. I think I had eaten a few more than I was permitted lol!
The steamed Marble Goby came to table with such a style and paraded brilliantly. It makes us craving for it on the spot. The texture was firm and moist, not flaky at all. The supreme soy sauce encapsulated the dish pretty well and came with abundance of flavor and taste. Lovely cooked at the right perfection. Thumbs up!
Home farmed chicken can be such a delicacy, they come with a nice yellow coated skin and taste crisp. The one we had the meat too had a great moist texture that was so alluring. The present of its fragant was so noticeable and the whole eating ritual at that moment was just excellent. To make the whole dish a complete excellent dish, Bentong Gingenr and Cilantro dip was put into play. It encapsulated the taste so well. Then with presents of Heineken too had chilled off our worries away. Fantastic
I knew the next dish will set its footing on our menu that evening, wild frog. We had it steamed and coated with supreme soy sauce. The wild frog was sweet and fresh and the meat itself was moisture too. Lovely cooked to perfection.
We ordered braised wild piglet in claypot andd perfectly accompanied with ginger and spring onion. It was truly tasty and the piglet texture was lean. Love the smell too, fragrant. Awesome!
Now this is next farm chicken cooked in bentong ginger broth laid over rice noodle was my favourite. The broth was rice with not only ginger but with a good grade of Chinese wine and this itself encapsulated a beautiful fragrant and tastily warm soup. Yes Bentong ginger is defintely had its edge of excellence. With the present of rice noodle that soaked up the broth makes the noodle taste incredible delicious. It was a warming welcoming dish. Definitely make one crave for another two bowl.
We wanted soomething simple yet delicious and we were recommended a stir fried baby beans laced with caramelised sweet thin sliced crispy pork belly. It was really beautifully to indulge, crunchy beans accompanied with sweet crunchy pork belly truly make it a hit dish. I wouldn't mind to order another plate to jive with my rice. Madly in love with this baby beans.
