Pahang, 18th May – A fresh air over the hills, along with the blue sky and green expands before our eyes. A short yet suitable description to describe this beautiful place, Bukit Tinggi.
Bukit Tinggi is a hill destination in Pahang with variety of unique attraction and it's just over one hour drive from Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
The most fascinating destination that will attract people a lot at Bukit Tinggi will be Colmar Tropicale. It's a French themed village and a reproduction of the original Colmar Village, dating back to the 16th century in the Alsace region of France. It stands about 2,600 feet above sea level, on 80 acres of natural forestland.
This French themed village was first opened in July 2000. It is owned by a local Malaysian company, Berjaya Group. Not only as a destination for tourists, this village is also functioned as a resort.
The themed resort is made up of eight blocks of architectural wonder; each with its unique style, from its colorful roof tiles to cobblestone ground. First time to enter this resort area, you will be welcomed by the sturdy wooden drawbridge as the entrance of Colmar Tropicale. The first impression will be very amazing; it is just like traveling back into the castle in the olden days.
Right after entering the French village, you can also see a clock tower that is designed after the Riqueweihr Tower in Alsace. This tower has a cuckoo clock at the top, which the wooden cuckoo will come out as the clock chimes every 15 minutes and on the hour. And yeah, the children will really love it!
Further more of the village street is Colmar Square. This square features a fountain, a wishing well and a viewing tower. It surely will be a nice place to relax after walking through the village. Here, you can always walk up to the top of the tower and get a scenic view of the surrounding hills.
Relaxing on the park benches in the square will also be a wise choice before you continue exploring this village. You can enjoy the meal in French way, either in the coffeehouse or at the sidewalk deli. Authentic French foods are served from sidewalk cafes and restaurants. The tables are placed strategically around the square, so that the visitor can enjoy the meal whilst taking the ambience.
Browsing around in the 17 themed shops is also a must. These themed shops offer a variety of products such as gift items, handicraft, pewter, wines and batik. Visitor also can watch a candle and soap-making demonstration at La Livande of Colmar Tropicale. The interesting part here; you will be able to make your own candles or soap at the workshop. It absolutely will be a good experience of your life!
Apart from those exciting activities above, there are more others that can be done here. Karaoke, board games, swimming, treasure hunt and tele-match are available to complete your journey of the French village. Colmar Tropicale is open daily, so no worries; you can visit this place often in any day! And with just RM16 for adults and RM8 for children below twelve, visitors can enjoy all those entertainments available at Colmar Tropicale.
Colmar Tropicale is obviously a nice place to spend your holiday. It's a fresh place to refresh your mind after working hard in hot and stuffy city. Bunch of pictures can't be forgotten while visiting this place. So bring along your camera, snap and get your unforgettable holiday experience!
